In a Nutshell:
* This is one tough plant. It sends roots down really fast to lock itself onto shifting sands and in search of moisture. It can withstand cold, heat, and drought. It can even be buried in sand and find its way to the surface. My guess is that you shouldn't plant it unless you want to have it for a long time. It may be hard to kill!
* Caragana microphylla is a polymorphic species and in some cases with transitional forms. Hybrids between this species and C. korshin skii may occur where these species are sympatric.
This species is planted for dune stabilization and for soil and water conservation. more...
* Small, gray-green compound leaves, light yellow flowers in May and June, native to Siberia and northern China, Hortus says this species only gets 3' tall and has a spreading habit, may vary with provenance of seed.
