Growing Info, follow in order:
Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours.
Stratification: cold stratify for 60 days.
Germination: sow seed 1/4" deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed.
Other: stratification may be replaced by a 24 hour cold water soak (40 degrees Fahrenheit).

Physical Characteristics  Pinus pinaster is an evergreen Tree growing to 20 m (65ft) by 7 m (23ft) at a fast rate. It is hardy to zone 8. It is in leaf 12-Jan It is in flower in May, and the seeds ripen in April. The flowers are monoecious (individual flowers are either male or female, but both sexes can be found on the same plant) and are pollinated by Wind.The plant is not self-fertile. The plant prefers light (sandy) and medium (loamy) soils, requires well-drained soil and can grow in nutritionally poor soil.The plant prefers acid and neutral soils..It cannot grow in the shade.It requires dry or moist soil and can tolerate drought.The plant can tolerate maritime exposure.
