Growing Info, follow in order:
Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours.
Stratification: warm stratify for 90 days, cold stratify for 120 days.
Germination: sow 1" deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed.

* Prunus sargentii is a deciduous tree that grows 20–40 feet in height. Its crown spreads to a width of 20–40 feet. New growth is a reddish or bronze in color, which changes to shiny dark green. The leaves are obovate and have serrated margins. Leaves are 3–5 inches in length and are arranged alternately. In fall the leaves turn red, orange, or yellow. It grows single pink flowers on 1 inch pedicels, which result in purple-black fruit in summer. The fruit is a favorite of birds, but because of their size (small, pea sized) and color are considered inconspicuous to humans. more...
* This is one of the best flowering cherry species with an upright spreading to rounded habit and deep reddish brown polished bark. The deep pink to red 1 1/2" flowers are in clusters of 2-4 and the shiny dark green summer leaves turn bronze red fall color. The tree has 3/8" dark purple fruit. It doesn't like smog, is native to northern Japan, Korea, Sakhalin.
