Physical Characteristics  Buxus microphylla is an evergreen Shrub growing to 1 m (3ft 3in) by 1.5 m (5ft) at a slow rate. It is hardy to zone 6. It is in leaf 12-Jan It is in flower from Apr to May. The flowers are monoecious (individual flowers are either male or female, but both sexes can be found on the same plant) and are pollinated by Bees, flies. The plant prefers light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils and requires well-drained soil.The plant prefers acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils. and can grow in very alkaline soils.
