Growing Info, follow in order:
Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours, rinse and change the water, repeat process daily for 4 days.
Stratification: cold stratify for 90 days.
Germination: sow 1-2" deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed.

* Carya cathayensis is a deciduous Tree growing to 18 m (59ft 1in) at a slow rate.
* The seed is eaten raw or cooked. Rich in oil. it has a sweet flavour and is highly esteemed by the Chinese. The seed ripens in late autumn and, when stored in its shell in a cool place, will keep for at least 6 months. An edible oil from the seed is used in cooking.
