Growing Info, follow in order:
Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 12 hours.
Stratification: cold stratify for 90 days.
Germination: sow seed 1/4" deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed.

The shiny dark green leaves are shaped like elm leaves, reported to be tolerant of urban conditions and easy to transplant. A rounded to broad spreading tree of uniform outline at maturity. Nice for lawns, parks and golf courses or commercial grounds. It is native to central China where its bark is used in a tonic.
* Gutta-percha, known as Du Zhong in China, is commonly used in Chinese herbalism, where it is considered to be one of the 50 fundamental herbs. It is considered to be an excellent tonic for the kidneys and liver, and is thought to act specifically on the lower part of the body. Much interest has been aroused by Du Zhong's ability to reduce high blood pressure.
