Jacob's Ladder or Greek valerian ( Polemonium caeruleum ) is a hardy perennial flowering plant. The plant produces cup-shaped, lavender-coloured or white flowers. It is native to temperate regions of Europe .
Physical Characteristics  Polemonium caeruleum is a PERENNIAL growing to 0.4 m (1ft 4in) by 0.4 m (1ft 4in). It is hardy to zone 2 and is not frost tender. It is in flower from Jun to July, and the seeds ripen in July. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by Bees. The plant prefers light (sandy) and medium (loamy) soils and requires well-drained soil.The plant prefers acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils..It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade.It requires moist soil.
